Keynote Juli Burney: Those Who Laugh, Last

Often people are concerned humor may be inappropriate in school systems however, having
good humor means having a positive attitude toward situations. We are all born with a sense of
humor, we just haven’t been taught how to use it. Humor helps us remain cool under pressure
and keep challenges in perspective. Stress is a perception of an event. We may not be in control
of the events happening around us, however we can control our response to those events. This
is when a sense of humor is essential. Humor helps creativity and builds stronger relationships.
Those who laugh, last through it all (even the winter months!).
