About me
Hello! I am in my sixth year of teaching vocational skills at Norfolk Senior High. With the support of my Sped Team I have developed a vocational skills program, Operation 'N' Ployability. Operation 'N' Ployability is a school and community collaboration that works to develop and enhance student skills to help them independently secure and maintain employment while pursuing their goals for the future. I teach three sections of "Workstation Class" to prepare students with disabilities to develop and enhance employment skills through training and vocational experiences. In addition I work closely with the Adult Transition program securing job sites for our Job Skill students. We also have a Work Study program where students from NSH who are working can receive work credits. I monitor that program as well. My master's degree is in Curriculum and Instruction. I have 5 children (4 boys and 1 girl), a son-in-law, 2 daughters-in-law, a granddaughter and 3 grandsons. Prior to my current job I worked for the State of Nebraska in the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities. That experience afforded me the opportunity to see what I need to do as a Vocational Skills teacher to help prepare students for independent adult living.
